I came to piano tuning from the classroom. I taught music at a Title I middle school here in San Antonio, pouring everything I had into my students — until the program was cut. I wasn't ready to leave these instruments behind, so I picked up the tuning hammer and began caring for pianos across the city.
I'm newer to tuning than the long-time hands in town, and I treat that as a reason to be more careful, not less.
